Research

His current research interests include magnetorotational instabillity, turbulent dissipation, magnetoturbulence and dynamos, strongly nonlinear surface waves, ingassing in breaking waves, and chaotic light-scattering.

Dr. Lathrop received the B.A. in physics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987, and the Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. He joined the University of Maryland in 1997.
