Back to Equipment List SHIMADZU IR Prestige21 FTIR Spectrometer
Description Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrophotometer, Shimadzu IR Prestige21 with Near Infrared (NIR) kit, is a high sensitivity FTIR that features a dynamic auto-alignment system to optimize reproducibility, a temperature stabilized DLATGS detector and InGaAs detector for NIR, 30 degree Michelson interferometer with a friction-less moving mirror drive, a high-energy ceramic global source and tungsten lamp as a NIR source. A careful choice of accessories extends its high performance and versatility. We have a variable angle of incidence (from 30 to 80 degrees) specular reflectance accessory with integrated IR polarizer and a variable angle single reflection attenuated total reflection (ATR) accessory (also with integrated IR polarizer). These let us analyze a wide range of samples, from a monolayer to relatively thick films. The ATR in particular is good for studies of layered samples, coatings, monolayers on silicon and depth profiling studies.
