AIM Lab Summer 2026 FIB Short Course AN INTRODUCTION TO FOCUS ION BEAM (FIB) FOR THE NEW FIB OPERATORFocus Ion Beam (FIB) technology is an extremely useful and powerful tool in research across the physical and materials science, engineering, biological and medical sciences. The AIM Lab at the NanoCenter will offer a short course in FIB during the summer 2026 break (July 2026) using our Tescan dual beam FIB/SEM system. This hands-on short course is designed for individual with little or no prior experience with FIB. The course will cover the fundamental principles and operational aspects of FIB instrumentation. In addition to lectures, significance emphasis will be placed on laboratory exercises that provide practical experience in instrument operation and demonstrate a variety of FIB operation. Date: July 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2026 To enroll, please fill out the application form and submit it to the AIM Lab office by 5:00 pm, June 30, 2026 (Tuesday) at room 1234, Kim Building.
