Yue Qi, a professor of chemical engineering and materials science at Michigan State University and a PI of NEES since its inception in 2009, has been named the first associate dean for inclusion and diversity in the university’s college of engineering.

Qi was an affiliate of the NEES program 2009-2013, and a primary PI when NEES was renewed 2014-2018. Her research focuses on computational materials science, multi-scale modeling, electrical-chemical-mechanical coupling in Li-ion battery and fuel cell materials, transport in solid electrolytes, interfaces, and grain boundaries.
