The Maryland NanoCenter is excited to announce the opening of our third lab, the NanoOptics Lab. Under the direction of Dr. Vildana Hodzic, the NanoOptics Lab features state-of-the-art metrology tools designed to characterize and manipulate nanoscale structures and interactions. These tools include:
- Probe Nano Laboratory NTegra Spectra -- A unique research platform suitable for a wide range of measurements, the NTegra Spectra combines several scanning probe microscopies and confocal microscopy/Raman scattering spectroscopy on a single platform.
- Shimadzu IR Prestige21 Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer -- The IR Prestge21 is a high-sensitivity, high-reproducibility single beam FTIR spectrometer that can be easily customized into an application-specific measuring system.
- Horiba iHR320 UV-VIS Imaging Spectrometer -- The iHR320 is a two-entrance and two-exit port, triple-grating imaging spectrometer with two independent light sources. It provides the flexibility to change experiments and optical configurations.

Dr. Hodzic will host a seminar entitled “New research directions in the NanoOptics Lab” in March, which will give an overview of the equipment’s capabilities and of recent research performed there.
