Ultrasensitive Ebola Virus Antigen Detection via a Nanoantenna-Array Biosensing Platform

Zhijuan Su
Postdoctoral Researcher
Princeton University

Zhijuan Su is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in Electrical Engineering at Princeton University working with Prof. Stephen Y. Chou. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University in 2016. In this seminar, Dr. Su will discuss a plasmonic nanoantenna-array-based biosensor platform for the detection of Ebola virus (EBOV) antigen – soluble glycoprotein (sGP) – that is over 10,000-fold more sensitive than conventional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). The sensor maximizes the excitation laser absorption efficiency on-chip to 95%, and has demonstrated an analytical sensitivity of 95.8%. These results combined highlight the significant potential of the nanostructured biosensor in ultrasensitive detection of pathogens.

About the The Mid-Atlantic Micro/Nano Alliance (MAMNA) virtual seminars
These virtual seminars are livestreamed on YouTube Thursdays from 3:00 to 3:30 pm, and feature speakers from the MAMNA community from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Each talk is approximately 20 minutes long with 10 minutes of Q&A. The talks are also archived for future viewing.
